Do you have anything fun planned after this interview?
Whether you can relax into a normal conversation, and whether there's a life outside the application — the kind of person classmates and patients would enjoy being around.
The trap
Turning it into another answer about dentistry — 'I'm going back to review my notes for Friday's interview.' It sounds like you never switch off, which is exactly the worry about students who burn out.
How to structure your answer
A short, honest answer → one specific detail that shows who you are → a light hand-back.
- Anything real counts: a meal, a friend, a long nap, the flight home
- One specific detail makes it human
- Keep it under twenty seconds
- If nothing is planned, say what you're looking forward to instead
A weak answer
Not really. I'm probably just going to head back to the hotel and go over my notes, since I have another interview on Friday and I want to make sure I'm prepared for that one too. Maybe I'll grab dinner somewhere nearby.
Answers a question about fun with more preparation.
A stronger answer
I do, actually. My college roommate lives twenty minutes from here and I haven't seen her in two years, so she's picking me up and we're getting ramen at the place she's been texting me photos of since I booked the flight. I told her I'd still be in a suit. She said that was not her problem.
A real plan, a real person, and a little humor in four sentences.
The first answer is still inside the interview. The second lets them meet the person who walks out of it.
These are illustrations, not scripts. An answer you memorize sounds memorized — the point is the shape and the specificity, in your own words and about your own life.
Reading it isn't the same as saying it.
Most people can explain a good answer and still fall apart saying one out loud. Admitted asks you all 100 questions in a faculty voice, records you, and scores your pace and filler words.
