If we admitted you, what would you want to get involved in here?
Whether your interest survives contact with detail, and whether you'll be an active member of the community.
The trap
Naming things that don't exist there, or listing so many it's obvious you'd do none. Two or three, well-justified.
How to structure your answer
Name specific organizations or programs → why each → what you'd bring to it.
- Name real groups by name — ASDA chapter, specific outreach clinics, research labs
- Connect to what you've already done elsewhere
- Include one thing you'd start or improve
A weak answer
I'd want to get involved in as much as I could, honestly. Student government, the pre-dental mentoring, research if there's an opening, the outreach clinics, maybe a specialty club or two. I've always been the kind of person who takes advantage of everything available, and I'd want to make the most of the four years and be part of the community.
Lists everything, which reads as having committed to nothing.
A stronger answer
Two, honestly, because I'd rather do two well. The ASDA chapter, since I ran a campus food pantry for two years and the part I was actually decent at was the boring part, the budget and the volunteer schedule, and chapters always need that person. And the outreach clinic days, especially anything going into schools. One thing I'd want to start: the pantry taught me people stop coming back when hours are unpredictable, so a standing monthly date instead of one big event a year.
Two commitments, prior evidence behind each, and one specific improvement he'd bring.
Naming two things you'd show up for beats naming six you'd sign up for in week one.
These are illustrations, not scripts. An answer you memorize sounds memorized — the point is the shape and the specificity, in your own words and about your own life.
Reading it isn't the same as saying it.
Most people can explain a good answer and still fall apart saying one out loud. Admitted asks you all 100 questions in a faculty voice, records you, and scores your pace and filler words.
