Your video and audio recordings never leave your device. There is no account and no login, and we never store your interviews. Practice sessions live in your browser's memory and are erased when you close the tab.
Three things do involve someone else, and we want to be plain about all of them: live transcription is performed by your browser's speech service, the written text of your answers is sent for analysis if you use the closer read, and payment is handled by Gumroad. Details below.
Everything you record. When you run an interview, your camera and microphone feed is captured by your browser and held in memory only. Your video and audio are never uploaded anywhere, by us or anyone else. Closing the tab destroys them permanently — we cannot recover a session for you, because we never had it.
Posture and facing feedback is also calculated on your device. To do it, your browser downloads a body-detection model from Google's and jsDelivr's public file servers, in the same way it downloads any image or font. Those servers see that a file was requested. They never see your camera.
To remember your settings and show your progress, Admitted stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage on your own device. We cannot read it. It contains:
| Stored | Why |
|---|---|
| Interviewer, pressure level and toggle settings | So you don't reconfigure every visit |
| Your school research notes | To personalise fit questions and show your notes in review |
| Session summaries — score, words per minute, filler rate, average answer length, date | To draw your progress chart |
| Your licence key and unlock status | So you stay unlocked after buying |
We do not store your transcripts, your recordings, or the content of your answers. You can erase everything at any time with Clear history on the Progress page, or by clearing your browser data for this site.
Delivery scoring needs a text transcript, which Admitted gets from the Web Speech API built into your browser. By default most browsers perform this recognition on a remote server, meaning your audio is sent to your browser vendor's speech service for processing. This is a function of your browser, not of Admitted — we never receive that audio or the transcript it produces.
Some newer browsers can perform this recognition entirely on your device. That capability is not yet dependable enough for us to switch on — in our testing it could freeze the browser mid-interview — so Admitted currently uses your browser's standard recognition. When on-device recognition is reliable we will adopt it and update this page.
If you would rather no audio be processed anywhere, use a browser without speech recognition support, or decline the microphone permission. You will still be able to record and review yourself; you will lose automatic pace and filler-word scoring.
If you have unlocked Admitted, the review screen offers a closer read: an assessment of what was actually in your answers rather than how you delivered them. To produce it, the text of your answers is sent from your browser to our server and on to OpenAI, which analyzes it and sends back the notes you see. This is the only feature in Admitted that sends anything you said off your device to us.
What is sent: the questions you were asked, the transcribed text of your answers, and the school name if you entered one. What is not sent: your video, your audio, your name, your email, or anything identifying you. We do not keep a copy — the text passes through, the notes come back, and nothing is written to a database, because we do not have one.
OpenAI processes the text under their own policy as a business customer. If you would rather this never happen, do not unlock the app, or run your interviews without speech recognition so there is no transcript to send.
Admitted has a hidden setting, not shown in the interface, that lets a technical user supply their own OpenAI or ElevenLabs API key for a more realistic interviewer voice. If a key is supplied that way, the text of interview questions is sent to that provider to synthesise speech, and their privacy policy governs it. Your key is held in memory for the current tab only, is never saved to disk, and is never sent to us. Leave the field blank and your browser's built-in voice is used instead, entirely offline.
Purchases are processed by Gumroad. Admitted never sees or stores your card details. When you activate a licence key, that key is sent to Gumroad to confirm the purchase is valid. Gumroad's own privacy policy applies to the data they collect. If you give us your email address to receive the free study guide, that email is held by Gumroad and used to send you the guide and occasional messages about Admitted — you can unsubscribe from any of them.
Admitted does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies, and does not sell data to anyone, ever.
We also count four moments inside the app so we can tell whether it is being used and where people stop: an interview starting, someone reaching a third question, someone reaching the review screen, and a licence code being accepted. Each one is recorded by asking our own server for a tiny file. There is no cookie, no identifier and no content of any kind attached — the record says that something happened, never who did it, and the four totals cannot be linked to each other or to a person.
Our host, Netlify, counts page requests from its own server logs so we can see how many people visit. That counting is done without cookies and without following anyone between sites, and it tells us things like how many people opened a page and roughly which country they were in. It cannot identify you.
Admitted is intended for university students and graduates applying to dental school. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Because we hold almost nothing, most requests you might make you can carry out yourself in seconds by clearing your browser data. If you bought a licence and want the purchase record associated with your email deleted, or you have any other question about your data, email admitteddental@gmail.com.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note what changed. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
