The schedule is the whole business. If a patient cancels, or an assistant calls out, or a procedure goes longer than expected, that impacts everyone in the office. I learned clear communication with your team is the key to success.

The insight is non-clinical and it is about the team, which is what the job actually runs on.

Working there let me see so much more than shadowing did. I saw the full range of procedures, from cleanings all the way through root canals and extractions, and I got genuinely comfortable with the instruments and with the flow of an appointment. You just can't build that kind of familiarity standing in the corner for a few hours at a time.
