Two stages. Almost everyone who applies does the first one. The second takes one of two shapes, and NYU does not tell you which.
NYU requires an asynchronous Kira Talent interview from everyone who applies — it is not an invitation, it is part of the application. Nobody is on the other end, and there is no second take. This is the stage that decides whether you go any further.
Finalists are invited to an in-person Candidate Day. NYU does not publish what it contains. Applicants report two different shapes: a group interview, several people answering the same question in turn, and a straight one on one. Prepare for both, because you will not know which you have until you are in the room.
First interview free in any format.
“Each applicant to NYU Dentistry must complete an asynchronous video interview via Kira Talent.”— NYU College of Dentistry, Admission Requirements · source · second source
NYU confirms the stages but not the shape of the live interview. See the reports.
The recorded stage is the one everybody has to clear, and it is the one nobody practises. Do that first, then cover both shapes of the in-person day.
